A mock draft with the real 2027 class

This NBA draft simulator uses the real 2027 prospect class: Tyran Stokes (Kansas), Jordan Smith Jr. (Arkansas), Stefan Joksimović (Baskonia), Caleb Holt (Arizona), Patrick Ngongba II (Duke) and the rest of a 63-player big board with positions, heights and schools. Under each name is a one-line read from his size and class, and each pick says whether he was the best left or a reach for a need.

Choose a team and you are on the clock whenever its pick comes up, in both rounds. The other 29 teams draft from the same board, each leaning toward the positions its real roster is thin at, with enough randomness that no two mocks go the same way.

When the draft ends you get a grade for your class, based on how much value you took compared with where the board ranked each player.

Where the order comes from

The 2027 draft is the first under the 3-2-1 lottery: 16 teams, 37 balls, every lottery pick drawn, and the three worst records draft relegated. This page draws that lottery from our projection of the 2026-27 season the moment it loads, so every visit starts from a fresh order.

Want a different order? Re-draw the lottery, edit the standings or switch to the old 14-team odds in the section below, then mock again. Picks that have already been traded in real deals are shown under the team that earned them, with an arrow to the team that owns them now.

For the lottery odds themselves, every team's chance at each pick, see the NBA draft lottery simulator.

FAQ

How does the NBA draft simulator work?

Pick a team, or let all 30 draft. When your pick comes up you choose from the 2027 big board; every other team drafts from the same board weighted by its own roster needs. Both rounds are drafted, and at the end your picks get a grade against where the board had them.

Is this the real 2027 NBA draft class?

Yes. The board is the real 2027 prospect class, ranked from public early big boards, with each player's position, height, school or club and class year. Under the name is a one-line read from those facts: short or big for the position, and where our consensus ranks him. It is not a report on his skills. We re-rank the board by hand as the college season goes on.

Where does the draft order come from?

The 30 picks follow our projection of the 2026-27 season, and the lottery picks are drawn under the new 3-2-1 format that starts with the 2027 draft. Re-draw the lottery or switch to the old 14-team odds below, then mock the new order.

Do traded picks show up?

Yes. Picks that have already changed hands in real trades are shown under the team whose record earned them, with an arrow to the team that owns them now.

How do the other teams decide who to take?

Each team takes the best player available with a lean toward positions its roster is thin at, and a little randomness, so the same order rarely produces the same mock twice. The pick line says which it was: the best player left, or a reach for a need.

Is the NBA draft simulator free?

Yes. It is free, runs in your browser and needs no sign-up. It is an independent fan tool and is not affiliated with the NBA.
